Menagerie is a unique and popular restaurant located in Manchester. The owner, Karina Jadhav, opened the restaurant in 2016 and had already established a strong brand identity and destination that surprised and delighted guests. However, following two years of lockdowns and being located in the middle of a chaotic development regeneration project, Menagerie needed to attract new customers and increase sales.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective was to increase brand awareness, attract new customers, and increase sales by participating in the Manchester Pride Parade, an annual event that celebrates the LGBTQ+ community and promotes equality and diversity.
SOLUTION:
Menagerie partnered with Modernity Marketing to create a pride float for the parade. Modernity Marketing worked closely with the Menagerie team to organise vogue dancers, drag queens and Coronation Street actors to appear on the float. Modernity Marketing design and organised the wrap on the float, and also secured the appropriate license from Manchester City Council. On the day of the parade, the float was a hit, and Menagerie distributed 40% off flyers to parade-goers to encourage them to visit the restaurant.|
RESULTS:
The Manchester Pride Parade was a huge success for Menagerie. Over 250,000 people attended the parade, and the Menagerie float received positive feedback from both parade-goers and organisers. The restaurant also saw an increase in customers and sales following the parade, as many attendees took advantage of the 40% off flyers. Menagerie also built relationships with local LGBTQ+ organisations and community groups, which will be beneficial for the brand in the long term.
CONCLUSION:
Participating in the Manchester Pride Parade was an effective way for Menagerie to demonstrate its support for the LGBTQ+ community and increase brand awareness, attract new customers, and increase sales. The restaurant's unique experience - a show-stopping combination of theatrical performance, a catwalk, and aerial dancers- made it a perfect fit for the vibrant and diverse atmosphere of the parade. The partnership with Modernity Marketing was key to make sure everything ran smoothly and to secure the license from the city council, which helped in this successful event.
